Gray sat untouched, sinking smaller in his well. Too dull to matter, he thought, sinking small. Bright colors filled the canvas, bold and loud.
But something looked wrong and too loud. The little painter frowned, and nearly gave up. Then her eyes found the small grey blob.
The loud painting needed a quiet, deeper hand. Gray became the shadow beneath a painted mountain. Suddenly every bright color began to glow.
