Waddle and the Deep Water
Waddle washed up in a lagoon where everyone stood tall and pink on one leg, and no matter how hard he tried, he only tumbled into the sand. A gentle bedtime story about missing home, a sudden storm, and the deep water that only he was built to save. For every little one who feels like the odd one out.
Waddle washed up where everyone stood tall. Pink flamingos danced tall on one thin leg. Waddle tried to stand on one leg too.
He wobbled once, and tumbled into the sand. He always felt strong in deep water. He missed a home without feeling strange.
Dark clouds rolled in fast over the lagoon. A wave swept one chick out to sea. Waddle looked at the deep water, and knew.
The deep water needed someone built to dive. He caught the chick and swam them home. The flamingos gathered close, grateful and amazed.
Now the tall pink dancers learn to swim.
