The Tooth Under the Pillow
Pearl the little tooth spent her whole life inside a boy's laugh. Now she waits under his pillow, and the tooth fairy is coming. A gentle bedtime story about first milestones for kids with a wiggly tooth — and for the grown-ups watching them grow.
Her first night ever outside his smile. All her life, she had lived in laughter. Tonight, they said, the tooth fairy would come.
So Pearl hid deep in the pillowcase corner. She came anyway, small and dusty and tired. Inside his smile, a new tooth was growing.
Her old spot was filling in without her. The fairy whispered, come see what teeth become. Pearl took a breath, and stopped hiding.
In the fairy garden, baby teeth are planted. They grow into the small white stars. That night, one new star faced his window.
