Every night, Glow kept one small room safe. This was the only room it knew. One morning, small hands packed it away.
The dark bag rattled toward somewhere brand new. The new room was big and strange. Glow shrank small, its light turned blue.
The other child lay stiff, missing home. Then Glow flickered, and the room went dark. In the dark, it saw someone afraid.
So Glow remembered its purpose, and blazed. Warm light filled the room like a sunrise. Two homesick hearts slept warm in one light.
Now Glow knows it can be home anywhere.
