Rusty and the Sunset Only He Could Color

Rusty was the stubbiest crayon in the box, worn down and certain he was used up. A gentle bedtime story about feeling worthless, a sunset that needed exactly the right warm red, and the tiny crayon who made it glow. For every little one who feels too used-up to matter.

Rusty and the Sunset Only He Could Color — an animated bedtime story for kids

Rusty was stubby, worn down, and nearly gone. Tall bright crayons stood proud inside the box. Every time, small hands picked the tallest ones.

Rusty rolled himself forward, hoping to be picked. The hand passed him for a taller one. Too small to matter, he hid away.

He pushed into the back corner, and hid. One evening, a child searched for perfect red. Every other red looked wrong for sunset sky.

For the sunset, only his warm red worked. Rusty pressed hard, laying warm color across sky. The sunset glowed exactly right, warm and soft.

The most-loved drawing was made with little Rusty.
