Gio and the Gap Between Two Peaks
Gio had to carry a child across a vast open gap between two mountain peaks, and he was terrified of the empty middle with no ground beneath him. A gentle bedtime story about the scary in-between holding the most beautiful view of all. For every little one afraid of the space between where they start and where they are going.
Gio must cross from peak to peak. Between them yawned a huge open gap. He feared the empty middle most of all.
There was no ground down there at all. He inched out from the safe platform. Then froze above the deep wide valley.
Too scared to go on or back. The child pressed close, eyes full of wonder. Below them the whole valley opened up.
The scary middle held the best view. Gio gathered his courage and glided on. The crossing he feared was the most beautiful.
Now Gio loves the wide open middle.
