Frost had no nose, only smooth cold snow. Two snowmen stood quiet in the winter yard. Frost reached for the carrot in the dark.
He pressed the stolen carrot into place. But his coal smile would not curve up. The neighbor stood hollow, his carrot nose gone.
Frost felt cold and hollow all alone. Slowly, Frost walked back to make it right. He gave the carrot back and confessed.
The neighbor smiled and forgave him at once. At last, Frost coal smile curved up bright. Together they shared the one good carrot.
