Every scary thought fed it bigger. It swelled up dark and filled the room. It loomed so huge she could not breathe.
Small and trembling, she hid beneath the blanket. The dark shape pressed against the walls. Then she looked right at it and breathed.
You are only Worry, she whispered. Seen and unfed, it began to shrink. Smaller and smaller, until it fit her hand.
Now tiny Worry sleeps, curled in her palm.
