Then one day, his friend was sent away. Small hands aimed him out the open window. Ace watched him climb into the enormous sky.
His friend shrank to a dot, and vanished. Alone on the sill, the sky felt empty. Ace waited by the window, day after day.
Then a new plane sailed in the wind. Folded far away, it carried a small drawing. Two paper planes, still flying the same sky.
Now the miles between them fold up small.
