Ember and the Quiet Fire
Ember was a small volcano everyone loved, until the day his anger burst out and cleared the whole village. A gentle bedtime story about big feelings, a wise old sea turtle, and the strange cold night only Ember could fix. For every little one learning that big feelings need a slow, gentle breath.
The village loved Ember, until Ember got angry. Every morning he rolled through the huts. His warm glow lit their cooking fires nightly.
One day a joke cracked something inside him. Ash burst out before he could stop it. His fire cleared the square and his friends.
Alone on the sand, his glow went cold. An old sea turtle rose from the water. Breathe the fire out slowly, turtle said.
Every day he practiced soft slow puffs. One night a strange cold gripped the island. Ember breathed out warmth, slow and gentle.
Now the village sleeps warm in his glow.
