Chip the checker had to win every game. He gloated loud with every piece he took. But one wrong move, and Chip was jumped.
He lost, and could not bear the sting. Chip sulked and stormed off the board. The game stopped being fun for anyone.
Alone off the board, Chip watched them leave. The others played on, laughing win or lose. Chip saw the fun was in the playing.
So he returned, and cheered when he lost. He clapped for the cleverest jump of all. The pieces welcomed him gladly back to play.
Now Chip laughs hardest, win or lose.
